Etihad Stadium

Getting to the Etihad Stadium by tram couldn’t be easier. Metrolink runs fast, frequent and reliable services direct to the Etihad Campus stop. You can catch a tram every six minutes from the city centre and the journey takes around 10 minutes.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to summer transformation works there are currently no Metrolink services running through St Peter’s Square in Manchester city centre. No tram services are running between Eccles and MediaCityUK. Replacement bus services and a signposted city centre step-free walking route provide connections to Piccadilly Station for services to the stadium. Download the Metrolink network map to see all routes.

Getting to the Etihad

Ashton-under-Lyne services run direct to the Etihad Campus stop from city centre Victoria and Piccadilly Stations with journeys taking around 10-15 minutes.

Due to current improvement works, customers travelling on the Altrincham, East Didsbury, Manchester Airport & MediaCityUK lines should take a tram to Deansgate-Castlefield stop.

From there, you can either catch a connecting X2 replacement bus service or follow the step-free walking route to Piccadilly Station. Please allow at least 20 minutes for this.

At Piccadilly Station catch an Ashton-under-Lyne service and get off the tram at Etihad Campus stop.

After the match

Services will be reduced at the Holt Town and Velopark stops during the hour after the end of the match. These services are also likely to be very busy, so please leave time for your onward journey.

For connecting trams to East Didsbury, Manchester Airport, Altrincham and MediaCityUK please follow the step-free walking route to Deansgate-Castlefield or take the X2 bus from Fairfield Street outside Piccadilly Station to Deansgate-Castlefield or Trafford Bar stops.

We offer a range of value for money tickets and travelcards.

You must have a valid ticket before you board a tram. Please be aware that ticket checks take place across the network.

An off-peak return ticket from Piccadilly Station is just £3.00 for an adult, £1.40 for a child and £4.30 for a family (up to 2 adults and 3 children). Off-peak travelcards are also available and offer great value, allowing unlimited travel anywhere on the Metrolink network. If you’re travelling into the city centre by rail you can purchase a Metrolink add-on to your rail ticket allowing onward travel to the stadium by tram. Check with your local rail station or rail ticket agent for details.
