GMPTE - Metrolink

Holt Town - nature of the work

Construction of the new East Manchester line is already underway and work to divert utilities at Holt Town has started. This has involved laying ducts across Every Street, Ashton New Road and Holt Town.

The level of work will continue to increase in the area and, as a result, Beswick Street will be closed to southbound traffic from Ashton New Road to Pollard Street East.

The one-way system will be in place from mid June for up to four months and a traffic diversion - following Pollard Street, Cambrian Street, Hillkirk Street and Ashton New Road - will be signposted throughout.

Heavy duty concrete piling rigs will start to arrive in late June to create the foundations of the new Metrolink track and stop in the area between Ashton New Road, Holt Town and Cambrian Street.

There should be no need for anyone to enter houses or other premises whilst this work is carried out. If access to property is required, permission will be sought in advance.
