City centre track renewals
As part of our Metrolink improvement programme, we are replacing all the tram tracks and upgrading some stops in Manchester city centre. As a result Metrolink services are not calling at some city centre stops.
The following services are currently running:
Bury line
Trams every 12 minutes between Bury and Victoria.
Altrincham line
Double trams every 12 minutes between Altrincham and St Peter's Square.
Eccles line
Trams every 12 minutes between Eccles and St Peter's Square.
Bus link
A bus link service is currently running across the city centre, making journey connections easier for Metrolink passengers during the track upgrade work. The service can only be used by people with a valid Metrolink ticket.
The bus link runs during normal tram operating hours and connects Victoria, Piccadilly Gardens, Piccadilly Station and St Peter's Square, running in both directions:
Every 12 minutes until 7pm Mondays to Saturdays
Every 20 minutes after 7pm Mondays to Saturdays and all day on Sundays
Passengers must have a valid ticket Metrolink ticket before boarding the bus.
