Changes to weekend services for Metrolink improvement works

Metrolink customers are being advised to check before they travel ahead of weekend improvement works.

On Saturday 21 January ‘early bird’ services between Manchester Airport and Firswood will be replaced by buses during routine maintenance work. Normal services are expected to resume from 6am on the same day.
 
On Sunday 22 January, rail replacement work in the city centre means the following services will operate:
 
  • Bury – Piccadilly Gardens
  • Rochdale Town Centre – Monsall
  • Altrincham – Deansgate-Castlefield
  • Eccles – Cornbrook via MediaCityUK
  • East Didsbury – Deansgate-Castlefield
  • Manchester Airport – Cornbrook
  • Ashton – Piccadilly
The following replacement bus services will run to allow customer to make connections:
  • Cornbrook to Piccadilly (calling at all stops)
  • Central Park to Piccadilly (calling at all stops except Market Street)
 
On Sunday 19 February, rail replacement work in the city centre means the following services will operate:
  • Bury – Altrincham
  • Rochdale Town Centre – East Didsbury
  • Eccles – Deansgate-Castlefield
  • Manchester Airport – Deansgate-Castlefield
  • Ashton – Piccadilly
The following replacement bus services will run to allow customer to make connections:
  • Cornbrook to Piccadilly (calling at all stops)
  • Central Park to Piccadilly (calling at all stops except Market Street)
Tickets should be bought from machines at stops before boarding replacement buses and are also available from the get me there app (available from Google Play and Apple App stores). Metrolink staff will be at stops to offer assistance.
