Changes to Bury line services over Bank Holiday weekend

(Published:18/04/2017)

If you’re travelling with us over the Bank Holiday weekend please be aware there are some changes to Bury line services during improvement works.

Transport for Greater Manchester is currently building two new substations on the park and ride sites at Brooklands and Whitefield.

These will provide additional power and resilience across the Metrolink tram network, allowing us to run more vehicles.

As a result, the following tram services will run all day Sunday 30 April and up to approximately 2pm Bank Holiday Monday 1 May.

  • Altrincham to Etihad Campus
  • Eccles to Ashton-under-Lyne (via MediacityUK)
  • East Didsbury to Rochdale via Oldham
  • Queens Road to Piccadilly
  • Manchester Airport to Deansgate-Castlefield
A replacement bus will provide links between Queens Road and Bury all day Sunday and until 2pm on Monday, calling at all stops in between.

Normal Metrolink services will resume at approximately 2pm on Bank Holiday Monday.

If you are travelling on the replacement bus service please buy a ticket before boarding from machines on stops or via the get me there app (available from Google Play and Apple App stores). Our staff will be at stops to offer assistance.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this essential improvement work.
