A guide to your new ticket machines
What’s new
We’re installing new state-of-the-art ticket vending machines across the Metrolink network between November 2009 and spring 2010. The first of the new ticket machines will be operational at St Peter's Square and Piccadilly Gardens in early November 2009.
Your new and improved ticket machines benefit from easy-to-use touch screens. They offer a choice of English, French, German, Spanish or Polish and a number of ways to pay.
You can renew all season tickets with your current Travel Club ID card. You can even buy multiple tickets in a single transaction up to a maximum of ten (excludes season tickets).
To help you buy your ticket quickly we are also introducing a number of ‘queue buster’ ticket machines. Queue busters will issue only single and return tickets and accept only coins and debit/credit cards. Look out for the machines marked ‘single and return tickets only’.
Season tickets
You can renew a weekly, four-weekly, quarterly or annual season
ticket using the new ticket machines.
To renew your season ticket you will need to have a Travel Club ID card. You can apply for a Travel Club ID card at Travelshops or by post to GMPTE Customer Services, 2 Piccadilly Place, Manchester, M1 3BG. You will need a passport-sized photograph. Application forms can be downloaded on the Travel club page.
